Weblog Project: Russian Propaganda Poster
" Lenin - the leader of the revolution"
The message of this poster is that communism is better than the government right now and that Lenin, the leader of the revolution will start the reforming of the country. It is trying to get the people to support the communist part and their leader Lenin so that they will come to power. The picture in the poster is the event of the October revolution and the red flags which represents communism. The color black and white is very effective in the poster as will. What it said in the poster, "Lenin - the leader of the revolution" was meant for the people to trust and feel that Lenin is the right person to govern the country of Russia. It was not mistaken that the communist country now governs the country with Lenin as their leader.
"Lenin. October. Power to soviets. Peace to the nations. Land to peasants. Factories to workers. "
If the people supported Lenin in the October Revolution, they'll be given what they wanted. Like it said, if the power is given to the soviets there will be peace to the nations and lands will be given to the peasant. That was a new opportunity for people as well as factories for them. This was a new change that the people wanted. Before the revolution, they didn't have a change to do so and now what they wanted the most was for the war to end. By motivating the people with what they want most made the people support and the soviets were successful. In the poster, the color red in this place as well as the hammer and sickle represents communism which was meant to be the answer to all problem. With Lenin in the middle, it shows that he's the person the people should chose because he will give peace, land, and factories to the people as well as changing Russia into a communist part which was meant for people to be equal.
"All power to soviets! Peace to all nations! Land to peasants! Factories to workers! Lenin, holding the Pravda newspaper "
The message of this poster is that communism is good and that people should support the new government. The poster is made for the people to support Communism and that if they do so there will be peace and land for the people. This was good because it is what the people wanted making them want to support the idea. The Pravda newspaper was the truth of what is happening. The color red is the color for communism and with Lenin in the middle shows that he is the person that is going to lead the people to a better life.
"All the power of our industry for the fulfilment of the food program! "
This poster shows that the communist party wants to make Russia become an industrial nation and to do that they need the people to work together. To be able to became an industrial nation, they have to gain the peoples' supports which meant that the people had to cooperate and work together as they're told. The fulfilment of the food program was for the people that were starving. If this works, they would produce more food and with the people's support they were able to do that. The man in the middle shows the inviting of peoples' support. Buildings and factories behind represents the idea of becoming an industrial nation with people under control.
"The victory of the [Great] October [Socialist Revolution] - the most important event of the 20th century. Peace! Bread! Land! Worker (the name of newspaper). "
After the revolution, the reforms were done. Peace, land, and bread were being given to people and this was the most important event of the 20th century. This poster is made for the people to think that communism is the result of the problems and that they shouldn't oppose to the new government for they had given the peace that the people wanted. The peace, bread, and land idea motivates the people because it was what the people wanted. The red color represents communism and the people in the poster represents the soldier in the revolution which was successful.
"The most important thing to us is to preserve peace. Peace declaration. All power to soviets! Peace to nations! Land to peasants! Factories to workers!"
The message of this is that the revolution will help bring the war to an end and land to the peasants. This poster is trying to convince the people to support communism by giving reasons such as ending the war and giving land to peasants which is what people wanted. Peace to nations, land to peasants, and factories to workers means that this is their aim if the revolution was successful. It motivated the people a lot because those were the main stuff that they wanted. The color reds represents communism showing that if the people support, that 's what they're going to do because communism was meant for the people to be equal and to do that they'll be given what they wanted.
All of the poster are in the period of time during the Russian revolution. During the 20th century, propaganda are used basically to brainwash people. During the rising power of the Soviet Union, the propaganda were all over the place and the message is mostly for people to support the new government - communism. To motivate the people, they used messages that people want to happen such as the peace to nations, land to peasants, and factories to workers. Those are all of the things that people want. Another slogan was also "Peace! Land! Bread!". All of that were what the people wanted at that time and for that to happen, they were willing to support making the revolution successful.

In the 20th century a great war took many peoples lives away. Everything started in the year 1914 when Archduke Franz Ferdinand was assassinated. This event was like a spark which started World War I. The Austro-Hungarian had declared war including its alliance causing everyone to fight with each other. On the 28th of June 1914, Archduke Franz Ferdinand was on his way to Sarajevo where he was killed by a single gunshot. That gunshot ended his life almost immediately. TSAR NICHOLAS II
This is the picture of Tsar Nicholas II. He was the last emperor of Russia and died in 1918 during the revolution.
During the year 1914-1917 the Russians had entered the battles as one of the leaders of the Entente Powers in World War I. The commander of the Russian Army at that time was led by Tsar Nicholas II, the last emperor of the Romanov dynasty and Russia. His reign ended in the year 1917 during the Russian Revolution when he and his family were killed afterwards. Tsar Nicholas II was the eldest son of Alexander III that died because of a kidney disease. Tsar Nicholas at that time had a feeling that he wasn't ready to rule. He didn't have the interest in ruling and felt that it wasn't the time yet, but he became Emperor after his father's death.
Later Tsar Nicholas II married Alexandra Fyodorovna who later on became Empress of Russia. She was German and was the grandaughter of Queen Victoria of the United Kingdom that carried what people called "the royal disease". Empress Alexandra and Tsar Nicholas had 5 children altogether; they had 4 daughters, the Grand Duchess Anastasia, the Grand Duchess Tatiana, the Grand Duchess Olga, and the Grand Duchess Maria. Their only son that was next in line to the Russian throne before the revolution was Tsarevich Alexei. Tsarevich Alexei had the royal disease. (This is the photo of the Romanov family that was taken before the revolution.)Picture 2: "The Romanov Family" 8/26/2007 http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/e/e5/Russian_Royal_Family,_1911.JPG

Grigori Rasputin
Grigori Rasputin was called the holy man and friend by the Tsar. He helped their son, the Tsarevich Alexei who had hemophilia (the royal disease) and healed the Tsarevich through his prayers unlike the other doctors that only said that Tsarevich would die. Everytime that the Tsarevich was injured, Rasputin would come and healed him by making it better. Rasputin influenced the royal family a lot including the in politcal and personal mostly to the empress. Later Grigori Rasputin was assasinated by Prince Felix Yusupov and the Grand Duke Dmitri Pavlovich who were members of the Romanov family. They poisoned him and shot him then threw him into the river and left him to die.(This is the photo of Grigori Rasputin.) Picture: "Grigori Rasputin" - Grigori Rasputin: 29/8/2007 http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/4/44/Rasputin-PD.jpg
I think Rasputin is an important person because he influenced the royal family so much and gained trust from them which might be the cause of the fall of the Romanov; he influenced them in both political and personal.
